Rock the Box!
Check out the link below for the video that tells you more about Kananelo School for the Deaf:
Join us in our “Rock the Box” initiative. Where we pack school supplies in a shoebox and send them to the students of Kananelo School for the Deaf. I had the opportunity to visit Kanenelo in Lesotho and observed and interacted with students ranging from the ages of 6 – 17. The staff, though limited, worked enthusiastically and tirelessly moving the students along in an engaging manner. I was moved by how smart and perceptive the studentswere and how they displayed excitement about education even with very limited resources. The kindergarten class had roughly over 30 students with only one box of crayons.
Even though the students are deaf they are learning five days a week and developing work skills in agriculture and other areas to help them navigate life as they get older.
Stand with us with our “Rock the Box” initiative! We will be sending the shipments of shoeboxes to Kananelo School for the Deaf during the month of February.
What we need:
Shoeboxes or plastic containers with a lid to secure school supplies
Box of Pencils (2)
